We keep seeing home made face masks on pinterest, and we’ve been wanting to try one for ourselves. After sifting through quite a few, we decided to try this tumeric mask. Tumeric is an age-old beauty secret, traditionally used by Indian brides in face masks and body scrubs to get glowing skin before their weddings. Tumeric is high in antioxidants that help slow down cell damage, helps with inflammatory skin conditions (read: acne), and reduces pigmentation to help even out skin tone. With all of these benefits in mind, we set ourselves out to try this mask!

First, we gathered our ingredients:

  • 2 tablespoons of flour
  • 1 teaspoon turmeric
  • 3 tablespoons milk (Ours actually turned out pretty runny so you may want to consider using only 2 tablespoons)
  • A few drops of honey

Next, mix the ingredients in a bowl to create a paste.

Apply a thin layer of the paste to your face and let it dry for 20 minutes. I just want to point out how much I clearly love you guys for putting this picture on the internet…

Rinse off (a lot easier to do with cold water than warm water for some reason) and pat dry.

This face mask was actually fairly effective! The mask rinsed off clean with no residue, and the next morning I felt that my skin was a little more glow-y than usual! We think it would take a few uses before it reached its full benefits, but overall we liked it!
