When we saw frozen chocolate peanut butter banana bites on Pinterest, we couldn’t believe we hadn’t though of them before. We love peanut butter and banana sandwiches, we love Reese’s and we love frozen chocolate bananas- this treat is like all three rolled into one. They look epically delicious, easy to make and not too unhealthy, so we decided to try out this shenanigan. Would they be as mouthwatering as they look?
Our Version Pinterest Version
To find out, first we gathered our ingredients. This one was easy, you only need:
- bananas
- meltable chocolate shell (we used Dolce Frutta)
- peanut butter
Cut your banana into good-sized slices.
Spread a smear of peanut butter on top of each banana slice.
Melt the chocolate shell in the microwave (the container says to put it in for 30 second increments, stirring in between until smooth). If you are having trouble with your chocolate, you may want to add a little vegetable oil. Once it is smooth, dip the banana slices in the melted chocolate using a fork. Then hold the fork above the container, tapping it on the side to remove excess chocolate.
Slide the now chocolate-covered banana slices onto a tray covered and set them in the freezer to harden. Once they get cold you can store these frozen banana treats in a Ziplock in the freezer to save space.
You’re all done! We thought this shenanigan turned out great. These treats are a perfect summer snack! They’ll cool you right off and they’re nice and small so you can snack at your leisure. These are a much healthier alternative to ice cream , and making them couldn’t be easier!
